Raising vital funds for our chosen charity
Each year, the team at Spot On and their friends and families get involved in various charity fundraising events. For 2017, the chosen charity is JDRF, which stands for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is the world's leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research and raise money to drive world class research. They aim to find new ways to treat type 1 diabetes and its complications, prevent type 1 from developing and find the cure for people who already have the condition.
In July, Lynne and her daughter Laura took part in the Prudential RideLondon 46 sportive, as part of the JDRF team. Despite issues with their bikes in the earlier part of the race - and pretty windy weather conditions - they went over the finish line side-by-side, collecting their well deserved medals at the end of The Mall.
For Lynne, who until 2017 had ridden a bike for years, this was a case of getting fit enough and 'roadworthy' for the ride. Whereas Laura, a keen runner and cyclist, had already completed the London Marathon in April raising money for the other main diabetes charity, Diabetes UK.
